David Archuleta is the runner-up of American Idol Season 7 [2008]. High musicality despite of his young age. Cute. A little bit too cute, in my opinion. But cute has nothing to do with great voice he has. This is his first single after American Idol. The song is very pop-ish and sweet :)

I suddenly fall for this song :) Another Frou Frou.
The beat, the lyrics, the imagination - her talent is quite exceptional.

Namie Amuro "What a Feeling"

I've been listening to this song, over and over and over again. The fun and upbeat rhythm got under my skin... makes me wanna pop, dance and scream "What a feeling!!!" every time i hear it.

At first, i guess that Namie is remaking the 80's famous song from Flashdance, "What a feeling". It turns out that she does a "sampling". The beat is very creative - it combines both the touch of the 80's and the modern Japanese dance/hiphop/rnb style, Namie version of course.

Can't hardly wait for the album and the official singles/videos to come out so that i can place it here :D [btw, i had seen the clip from somewhere. a sneak peek. it's really cool!]

It starts vaguely in the beginning. But as the beats got stronger, you can hear the superb drum play. Gosh, the rhythm changes every 3 or 4 bars! In total, as i heard it myself, it has 6-7 different drum rhythm!

Porno Graffitti "Melissa" メリッサ

PORNO GRAFFITTI ポルノグラフィティ is a Japanese male rock band from Innoshima.

This song, Melissa, is taken from PORNO GRAFFITTI album BEST BLUE’S [2004], which was used as the opening theme for anime series FULL METAL ALCHEMIST in 2003.

I love the song from the very first beat! Esp the strong bass and rythimc drum! A big fan of the anime Full Metal Alchemist [FMA] too. I had the complete series back then; somehow i forgot where i put them -.-' nyeh...

The clip is quite... weird? All the weird/unique clips are considered to have a strong semiotic touch for me. In this case, Melissa is a SEMIOTIC clip i like :)

I love her voice! Mariah Carey is one of my favourite singers of all time, despite her crazy personality, her personal life and everything in between.

I heard this song, for the very first time, during her performance in American Idol Gives Back. I find the lyric strong and beautiful. It reminds me of those people i loved. Reminds me of my father, and how sorry i am for never spending a little more time with him.

There's nothing special with the clip. However, Mariah's voice is the thing that is hypnotizing.

Utada Hikaru "Dareka No Negai Ga Kanau Koro" 誰かの願いが叶うころ

The song is used as a theme song for a japanese movie, CASHERN キャシャーン, [watch the trailer]. The movie directed by Kazuaki Kiriya is a live-action sci-fi movie based on a 1973 Japanese anime of the same name. Even the poster looks astonishing!

The song itself is quite sad - hope, love, pain, and despair altogether. I am in love with the melodies and the maturity of Utada's voice from the very beginning. I also found the clip itself as remarkable! it's very SEMIOTIC - symbolic and iconic!!
