PORNO GRAFFITTI ポルノグラフィティ is a Japanese male rock band from Innoshima.

This song, Melissa, is taken from PORNO GRAFFITTI album BEST BLUE’S [2004], which was used as the opening theme for anime series FULL METAL ALCHEMIST in 2003.

I love the song from the very first beat! Esp the strong bass and rythimc drum! A big fan of the anime Full Metal Alchemist [FMA] too. I had the complete series back then; somehow i forgot where i put them -.-' nyeh...

The clip is quite... weird? All the weird/unique clips are considered to have a strong semiotic touch for me. In this case, Melissa is a SEMIOTIC clip i like :)

The song is used as a theme song for a japanese movie, CASHERN キャシャーン, [watch the trailer]. The movie directed by Kazuaki Kiriya is a live-action sci-fi movie based on a 1973 Japanese anime of the same name. Even the poster looks astonishing!

The song itself is quite sad - hope, love, pain, and despair altogether. I am in love with the melodies and the maturity of Utada's voice from the very beginning. I also found the clip itself as remarkable! it's very SEMIOTIC - symbolic and iconic!!

The song is used for a game, Kingdom Hearts キングダムハーツ,, from Disney and developed by Square Enix.
I used to watch some friend including my bf playing this game all day long. She released two versions of this song, the Japanese version and the English version - both lyric are not related at all, so don't be confused.

The clip is silly. It's all about Hikki washing dishes! For once, i though that she will do something different; that the scene will alter to another scene and that it will tell us some kind of story. i thought wrong!

Alanis Morissette "Uninvited"

This great song is used as one of the soundtrack for a movie: City of Angels, alongside with several other songs. The lyric are somewhat painful, somehow filled with misery - devastation. The constant craving, the longing of love... and that love appears not in the right time, not in the right place.

The movie City of Angels itself is very good - ironic and dramatic, i suppose. Worth watching.
